WWWTranscribe works best with Netscape Navigator.
Internet Explorer users may encounter bugs in the JavaScript code
(Netscape's lax handling of the String object type is not
possible in Internet Explorer).
The SpeechDat files have been converted to AIFF format (from alaw) so that they can be played with the standard audio plug-ins that came with your browser. The Java-applet can only handle alaw-formatted signal files. If you want to output the signal, you need an alaw-capable helper application (e.g. SoundApp for Macintosh), and you need to tell your browser to associate .DEA extensions with this helper application. |
